  • 454 g White Fish, skinned and Cubed
  • 1 cup Milk
  • 454 g Potato, peeled and sliced thinly
  • 3 Tbs Butter
  • 1 Medium Onion, chopped
  • ¼ cup Flour
  • 3 Whole Gherkins, chopped
  • 2 Tbs Vinegar, white or malt
  • 1 tsp Mustard
  • Salt and Pepper
  1. Melt 2 tablespoons butter, add onion and fry gently for 2-3 minutes. Stir in milk and flour, bring to boil, stirring all the time and cook for 1 minute. Remove pan from heat, add the gherkins, vinegar, mustard
  2. Arrange half the sliced potatoes in the bottom of the dish, season well then spoon in the fish mixture, cover with the rest of the potatoes, season them and dot with the remaining butter, Put in the oven at 190 degrees centigrade for about 1 hour or until potatoes are cook.
